who invented the modern cars?

In fact the car was invented in stages long years ago but, who invented the modern cars?
Karl Friedrich Benz (November 25, 1844 – April 4, 1929) was
a German engine designer and car engineer, generally regarded as the inventor of the gasoline-powered automobile (invented modern cars), and together with Bertha Benz pioneering founder of the automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz.
The car that they react called Benz Patent-Motorwagen (or motorcar), built in 1886,it is widely regarded as the first automobile, that is, a vehicle designed to be propelled by a motor.
